Har Ghar Tiranga’ is a campaign under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to encourage people to bring the Tiranga home and hoist it to commemorate India’s 78th year of independence. Our relationship with the flag has always been more formal and institutional than personal.
Carrying the flag home collectively as a nation in the 78th year of independence thus becomes symbolic of not only an act of personal connection with Tiranga, but also an embodiment of our commitment to nation building. The idea behind the initiative is to invoke the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the people and promote awareness of the Indian National Flag.

The GOI has recently announced the “Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign”. One program allows Indians to display the Tiranga in their homes to commemorate the country's 78th independence day. They must submit a selfie at harghartiranga.com and rashtragaan.in. The year 1947 marks the 78th anniversary of India's liberation from British rule. As part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged all Indians to fly the national flag from their homes (all homes must fly the tricolor flag).

India, on August 15, 2024, will celebrate its 78 years of independence from British rule in 1947. The government proclaimed the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to commemorate this achievement. The Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign is a component of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, which celebrates the 78th anniversary of Independence Day. By urging all citizens to fly the national flag from their homes between August 10 and 13, Prime Minister Modi has added fuel to this campaign.
To ensure that there are as many flags as possible to assist in this effort, the government has also authorized the use of polyester and equipment for flag production. Previous law allowed hand-spun and woven flags constructed of khadi, cotton, wool, silk, and pennants.
